The Henderson County Public Library seeks an energetic, motivated, and innovative individual who is interested in joining its team. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing excellent library services to young adults (typically 12 – 18) with an emphasis on programming, outreach, and reader's advisory.
With minimal supervision, the Teen Services Librarian is responsible for maintaining the teen collection, weekly programming, special events, and outreach services. Applicant must be able to communicate effectively, collaborate with community partners, and demonstrate a willingness to adapt to a changing environment.
Public library experience and experience working with young adults (ages 12 to 18) including knowledge of social media platforms, current teen and library trends, and young adult literature is required. A Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program is preferred; however applicants with a Bachelor's degree or other combinations of training and/or experience will also be considered.
This is a full time position working 40 hours per week, including days, evenings and weekends. Annual salary range commensurate with education and experience: $30,000 to $40,000. Please review the full job description in PDF format.
